2012 Chicago St. Paddy’s 5k and 8k Run/Walk and Leprechaun Leap
Officially title the “St. Paddy’s 5K Run/Walk benefiting the Irish-American Heritage Center featuring the Special Olympics Chicago 8K Run,” also new in this year will be a post-run/walk party at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum with live music, awards and prizes, and where participants of legal age will be treated to a complimentary beer.
As in the past, participants are encouraged to don green attire as there will be awards for the most innovative garb. The event will also feature the Leprechaun Leap, a fun-filled kids’ dash that’s popular with children and families.
Themed Be Seen … Be Green, this popular spring running event celebrates the Emerald Isle as well as St. Patrick’s Day (officially March 17, 2012).
Participation at this year’s St. Patty’s 5K/8K is limited to 5,000, so hurry and register today!
